MINDFULNESS SKILLS IN THE THERAPEUTIC SETTING

28th January 2012- 10am – 4.30 cost £65.00

Facilitator - Gabrielle Pearson Heavisides

In this workshop, participants will be introduced to the concept of Mindfulness and will also learn about its development and application in a wide range of therapeutic settings over the last 30 years.
By gentle use of experiential exercises throughout the day, I will demonstrate how mindfulness can improve personal well being and enhance the professional relationship. I will also provide examples of how mindfulness skills can be incorporated into therapeutic work so that clients are able to improve their ability to manage life challenges and difficulties.

Gabrielle is an accredited counsellor, supervisor and trainer working in various workplace settings including Lancashire County Council Employee Counselling Service, CAMHS, NSPCC and latterly the University of Liverpool as staff and student counsellor.

She has been a mindfulness Practitioner and teacher for the past 5 years with experience of running the 8 week MBSR course for groups. Gabrielle also uses mindfulness in clinical work with individual clients.
