Alison Welsby (BACP Member)

Alison holds a diploma in counselling and a diploma in supervision.

Services offered- individual counselling, couple counselling, supervision and group supervision work.

Alison is a practicing counsellor and supervisor in the NHS primary care where she has worked since 2001. She has also worked extensively as a counsellor and or supervisor for voluntary sector organisations, which include Warrington action for homeless; rape and sexual abuse support centre, women’s aid, listening ear and the lesbian and gay foundation (now the LGBT). She is a member of the management committee of a local women’s aid organisation.

Alison is a generic counsellor with experience of working with a diverse range of people and difficulties in a number of different settings including the prison service, GP practice, health centres and within the community mental health team. Alison has a special interest in working with anxiety, depression and bereavement and loss.

Alison qualified as a person centred counsellor in 1999 and has gone on to work in an integrative style drawing from other counselling approaches and techniques. She also qualified as a supervisor in 2002. Alison offers both short and long term interventions following an initial assessment. She works with people from the age of 16 upwards.

Due to Alison’s extensive work in the NHS she is mainly working at the centre on a Monday for her counselling work. Alison has more flexibility to offer supervision due to its monthly time allocation. Alison currently has a limited number of places available for both counselling and supervision.
