Awarding Body

Counselling and psychotherapy central awarding body (CPCAB) is a specialised awarding body managed by professional practitioners, supervisors, trainers etc. It is the only awarding body run by counsellors for counsellors. It is UK’s biggest provider of counselling qualifications in which there are 130 recognised training centres in the UK with 10,000 candidates registered annually. ABC awarding body is well recognised in the North West as one of the largest bodies in the United Kingdom. As CPCAB the qualifications meet the criteria of the qualifications curriculum authority.

At Cheshire Therapy Centre we aim to offer value for money without compromising on the quality of training. During these current times which are leading us towards statuary regulation it is in our view wise to utilise both awarding bodies.

Diane Edwards is a qualified tutor and has trained individuals on all levels of counselling training for the past seven years. She continues to work as a trainer in various educational establishments and private organisations within the North West. Diane is a BACP accredited counsellor/psychotherapist and has more than seven years of experience as a qualified supervisor BACP Accred ( individuals). She has numerous qualifications in the counselling field and is currently studying for an Msc with an emphasis on supervision and supervision research.

Julie Gerken has been a tutor for twenty two years the last five of these years have included teaching on levels three and four of counselling training. Julie has been a counsellor and expressive therapist for the past eight years and has recently trained as a supervisor. She has taught within further education, prisons and government funded schemes and charities. Julie previously taught counselling at Warrington collegiate and is currently teaching in Liverpool. Julie is also running short personal development courses for two charities in the North West and is currently studying for an M sc with a focus on trauma and group dynamics.
